Pastor mike Gutzler

Mike is lead pastor of Holy Trinity. He has a calling to introduce people to the inspiring message of Jesus, mentor the growth of a life of faith, and help individuals hear God’s calling for their unique lives. Mike has degrees from the University of Mary Washington and the Graduate Theological Union with additional certifications in Islamic Studies and Arabic from the University of California, Berkeley. When Mike is not engaged in matters of faith and life he holds the position of Associate Professor of Religion at Northern Virginia Community College where he enjoys teaching about all of the world’s great religions. Mike lives in Fairfax with wife Emma and their two children, Clara and Lawson.

ViCar allison Vincent-Beckman

Vicar Allison is an ELCA student at Virginia Theological Seminary. She is a native to Colorado, but also grew up in Mexico. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming where she studied Spanish language and Latin American literature, with minors in Latino/ a studies and international studies. Allison lives in Alexandria with her two cats, Aspen and Willow.

JOSHUA BROWN, DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND CHOIR DIRECTOR

Joshua Brown is a versatile musician who is equally comfortable conducting, performing as a classical vocalist, and teaching in many styles of music. Recognized as a “fine baritone” by The Washington Post, he has performed in operas, recitals, and concerts at various venues, including the Kennedy Center and Washington National Cathedral as well as many others in the Metropolitan DC area and abroad. As a music educator he has taught and conducted musicians of all ages and abilities from kindergarten to adult. Joshua currently resides in Alexandria VA with his wife Caitlin and dog Maisie.

GREG BLOY, ORGANIST/PIANIST AND INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR

Greg Bloy studied organ performance at Oberlin Conservatory, where he played saxophone with the Oberlin Jazz Ensemble and sang and played recorders with the Oberlin Collegium Musicum. He continued his studies at Penn State, where he received a Ph.D. in mathematics while studying organ and playing in the university jazz ensembles. He has performed in many semi-professional and touring bands in Pennsylvania and Michigan on saxophone and keyboards. He also sings with Voce, a northern Virginia choral ensemble.

Erika johnson, bell choir DIRECTOR

Erika brings her unique musical versatility and voice everywhere, from cabarets to orchestral pits and stages. Most recently, she was the drummer for the Pulitzer-prize winning, pre-Broadway run of A Strange Loop at Wooly Mammoth theater. Erika was also seen on stage as the drummer and on-stage band member in Signature Theatre's highly acclaimed, Girlfriend, where she was described as a "marvel" (DC Metro Arts). A frequent performer of new music, Erika is also the percussionist for DC’s Great Noise Ensemble.

Erika holds performance degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington and from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  She has also been the principal timpanist for the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra.

Erika lives in DC with her wife, Elizabeth, her amazing step-daughters, Ella and Juliet, and very crazy dog Eljay.

JOAN BUSCHER, PARISH ADMINISTRATOR

Joan joined the staff of Holy Trinity as Parish Administrator in September 2010.  Her prior experience included positions in government and the private sector and operation of two home-based businesses.

AUTUMN ORME KENDRICK, COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Autumn provides a variety of communications and marketing services to Holy Trinity, including strategic planning; photo, graphics, and messaging creation; social media campaign implementation; website content updates; and quality assurance. She has more than a decade of experience as a communications, marketing and media relations specialist, including serving as Director of Communications and Marketing for a large non-profit agency. She also has held staff positions in several political offices, including on Capitol Hill. Autumn currently resides in Burke with her husband James, son Nolan, daughter Ainsley, and their dog Waffles.
