Pull up a chair on Monday evenings at Northside Social for Theology on Tap! Pastor Mike is hosting an informal, open-floor discussion where no question is too big (or too small). On June 29th, we conclude our fascinating exploration into the human mind, "The Consciousness Debate,” with a summary and faithful response. Come share your perspective and enjoy the local vibe!
July 11: WELCA Book Club
The WELCA Book Club will meet on Saturday, July 11th, in Fellowship Hall for a breakfast buffet at 9 AM with book discussion to follow. Our discussion book is "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon. It is a gripping historical mystery novel inspired by the true story of Martha Ballard, an 18th-century midwife in Maine who investigates a murder, blending a murder mystery with a look at women's roles in a patriarchal society. It's praised as a riveting, suspenseful, and atmospheric read that highlights an unsung heroine that feels relevant today. July 1: OWLS at NOVA Wild Safari
On Wednesday, July 1 (note new OWLS date), the OWLS will travel to NOVA Wild Safari, a museum in Reston, VA, for a fun summertime excursion! The museum costs $17/person and can be enjoyed via drive through or a paved walking path. Our lunch will take place at Lazy Mike's deli. July 17: Summer Blood Drive
Save the date for our next blood drive on Friday, July 17th in Fellowship Hall. There is currently a National blood shortage and all blood types are desperately needed. July 18: Fairfax Water Mine & Swimming Hole
We’re headed to the Lake Fairfax Water Mine and Family Swimmin’ Hole for an afternoon of family fun on Saturday, July 18th (11 AM to 2 PM). Come nab a slice of tasty pizza under our “funbrella” and cool off! The whole family is welcome to attend and enjoy this summertime tradition. July 20-24: VBS Space Camp
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure this summer! Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is thrilled to host Vacation Bible School, in partnership with Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, from July 20–24, 12:00–3:00 PM. July 26: Winery Fellowship
Join us at Paradise Springs Winery (13219 Yates Ford Rd, Clifton, VA 20124) on Sunday, July 26th at 2:30 PM for great wine and great company. We will grab a couple of outdoor picnic tables where there will be plenty of room to mingle and for kids to play. Holy Trinity will provide the wine for enjoyment and fellowship. All are welcome! Aug 8: Faith Day at Nats Park
You’re invited to join congregations from across the Metro D.C. Synod for Faith Day at Nationals Park: an evening of baseball, fellowship, and community connection. Come cheer on the Washington Nationals as they take on the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, August 8 at 6:45 p.m. Buy tickets on the synod website for just $32/person, and our members will meet up in the same section at the game!
Aug 23: Church Picnic & Potluck
The best Sunday of the summer is just around the corner! Join us on Sunday, August 23rd after worship (around 11:30 AM) as we head over to the Cherry Hill Park Pavilion for our annual Church Picnic & Potluck! This is the perfect chance to kick back, catch up, and enjoy some incredible food together. Don't come alone—invite a neighbor, or five, because the more, the merrier!
